53-56 Ford F100 Door SealsF100 Central offers some of the best rubber products for 53-56 F100's on the market. On these old trucks, door seals are usually rotted, cracked or just missing. 1953-1955 F100 door seals are the same while 1956 F100 door seals are unique. The cab & doors change in 56 so that makes sense that the rubber seal would be different. Replacing your F100 door seals is pretty easy. Door seal kits should come in 2 pieces. One piece is the lower door section. This part will have the 90 degree rounded corners prefabbed into the seal so that it forms nicely around the door. Keep in mind that a lot of doors are missing the lower door seal retainer metal because doors rust on the lower part and they fall off. The seal almost needs the door seal retainer to hold the seal correctly. Prefit the seal to make sure that it fits as it should and that you have it on the door the correct way. You'll need a good automotive weatherstrip glue such as 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive. 3M weatherstrip adhesive stays flexible, dries quickly and holds door seals very well. Follow the directions on the tube. If you're unsure of how much time you have to work with the adhesive, put a dab on some scrap cardboard and see how long it takes to set up. Glue the lower section of the F100 door seal on. Make sure it's on correctly. You don't really want to try and take the door seal back off to try again. Once it has dried stretch the upper part of the door seal around the other 3 sides of the door. When you're satisfied that the door seal will fit, start gluing. You can do a section of the door at a time and work your way around the door. Also, don't forget to put a dab of weatherstrip adhesive on the ends of the seal where the lower seal meets the upper seal. This will hold them together better. Keep in mind that the 1956 door seal kit has the S-shaped section formed into the seal, so make sure you get that section fit well.
