Electric Windshield Wiper Conversions For 53-56 Ford F100 pickup trucks

When I built my first Effie (the 53 F100), I didn’t have much extra money laying around to convert the vacuum windshield wiper system to electric. What a pain it was in the rain. Yes I drove it in the rain. Vacuum wipers work off of engine vacuum. When you’re accelerating up the road, the wipers don’t work very fast because the engine is robbing the vacuum for itself.

What choice do you have? You can buy a complete electric wiper motor assembly for your 53-56 Ford F100. 1953-1955 Ford F100 pickup trucks use the same wiper conversion, while 1956-1960 Ford F100’s use the same wiper set-up. Besides having to lay on your back under your dash, they’re pretty easy to install in a morning if you have tools ready.
